Using a small, articulated “wrist” cutting head, the dynamic waterjet tool automatically adjusts cutting angles for specific accuracy and part tolerance requirements.

What are the differences between a dynamic waterjet and a conventional waterjet?
The dynamic waterjet signifies the greatest improvement in waterjet cutting ever and a huge step forward in thick material processing. Custom Laser is very proud to be one of the few manufacturers that are involved with this technology. A dynamic waterjet will automatically adjust its cutting angle to prevent a taper on our customers’ parts. With a conventional waterjet, the cutting head does not angle, thus creating a very large and undesirable taper.
Why should I choose Custom Laser’s dynamic waterjet services over laser services?
Laser cutting is a very productive process and is a great option for many applications, however certain projects can only be produced through dynamic waterjet cutting. Using this process, there are virtually no thickness limitations, and because our system is equipped with a dynamic wrist-action head, there is virtually no taper – even on 8-inch-thick steel!
What types of material can Custom Laser process?
The types of material we can process are endless. Since there is no light input, reflective materials like brass and copper can be processed without any problems. There is also no heat input with dynamic waterjet cutting, so plastics, rubber or composites and even materials such as glass, stone and very hard ceramics can be processed because there is no burning or heat-affected zone (HAZ).
